Liverpool Basketball Club

Local Development for National Success

2018/2019 Season

For the 2018/2019 Season, LBC ran teams in NBL Division 2, U18 North West, U16 North West 1 and U14 North West 1.
We also worked with Sefton Stars Basketball Club to develop basketball and co-operate particularly on an NBL Division 4 team (Liverpool Stars).
All teams played their Home games at Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College.

In NBL Division 2,  the team did not lose a league game all season, winning the Division 20-0. The team continued their good form in the end-of-season Play-Offs, reaching the Final where they defeated Westminster Warriors to become 2018/19 Play-Off Champions.
In NBL Division 4, Liverpool Stars came 3rd in the North Division, earning an Away game against Doncaster Danum Eagles in Round 1 of the Divisional Play-Offs - which they lost 95pts - 73pts.
The U18’s finished 2nd in the North West Division, the U16’s 1st in the North West 1 Division and the U14’s 2nd in the North West 1 Division.
Only the U16’s gained a place in their Divisional Play-Offs - an Away game against the Premier North Division winners, Manchester Magic - which they lost 102pts - 45pts.

2019/2020 Season

This website will be updated for the 2019/2020 season, the Club’s 50th, when information becomes available, but until then our Facebook page will provide news, photos and updated details of of our proposed activities.

We believe that until Basketball is recognised in the UK as a spectator attraction as well as a participatory sport, facilities will continue to be provided without any consideration being given to spectator accommodation and welfare. Our Home Court has spectator accommodation and we have invested to enhance it and make spectating an attractive experience.

We therefore encourage you to come and support LBC teams - not just the senior teams, but the younger age-group teams as well. All the players appreciate spectator support, the more and louder the spectators the better.

There will be a spectator entrance charge for games involving the NBL Division 1 team, but no spectator entrance charge for other games

Home games involving the NBL Division 1 team, the NBL Division 3 team and the NBL U18 team will be streamed live on the liverpoolbasketball You Tube channel under the Liverpool Basketball Live title.

Live-streams of current season NBL games will be available for catch-up viewing after having been re-named and possibly edited.

The liverpoolbasketball You Tube channel also holds a number of videos from past seasons which are available for viewing, additional ones being added on an irregular basis.

If you want to do more than just spectate, we are always on the lookout for ambitious Players, for Team and Assistant Coaches, for Game & Table Officials, for volunteers to help with the set-up and running of Home games, team management, the taking and processing of photos & videos, the taking, recording and publishing of game statistics.
