For the 2018/2019 Season, LBC ran teams in NBL Division 2, U18 North West, U16 North West 1 and U14 North West 1.
We also worked with Sefton Stars Basketball Club to develop basketball and co-operate particularly on an NBL Division 4 team (Liverpool Stars).
All teams played their Home games at Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College.
In NBL Division 2, the team did not lose a league game all season, winning the Division 20-0. The team continued their good form in the end-of-season Play-Offs, reaching the Final where they defeated Westminster Warriors to become 2018/19 Play-Off Champions.
In NBL Division 4, Liverpool Stars came 3rd in the North Division, earning an Away game against Doncaster Danum Eagles in Round 1 of the Divisional Play-Offs - which they lost 95pts - 73pts.
The U18’s finished 2nd in the North West Division, the U16’s 1st in the North West 1 Division and the U14’s 2nd in the North West 1 Division.
Apart from the D2 team, only the U16’s gained a place in their Divisional Play-Offs - an Away game against the Premier North Division winners, Manchester Magic - which they lost 102pts - 45pts.
The 2019/20 season was the Club’s 50th since being founded in 1969/70, as well as being the 30th season in the NBL.
As a result of winning NBL Division 2 in the 2018/19 season, Liverpool gained promotion to NBL Division 1 for the 2019/20 Season.
The Club expanded once again, additional teams being entered in the NBL at U12 (Mixed), U16 Girls and U16 Boys - together with a Womens team being entered in the Manchester Area Basketball League.
Our full NBL lineup for the 2019/2020 season was U12 Mixed, U14 Boys, U16 Girls, U16 Boys, U16 Boys Premier, U18 Men, Division 3 Men and Division 1 Men.
We also started a Women’s team, playing in the Manchester Area Basketball League.
We were very close to the limits of the facilities we had available for both training and Home games, so our new Women’s team had to train & play their MABL Home games at the Everton Free School.
Although being disrupted and brought to an early end by the coronavirus pandemic, sufficient of the season had been completed to allow England Basketball to finalise Divisional placings.
