Liverpool Basketball supports Basketball Englands Aspire programme.

Three of Liverpool’s National League coaches have been supporting the Basketball England Aspire programme this week. Amy Russell, Under 16 girls coach, Michael Wilson, Under 16 boys coach and Under 12 boys coach Emmett Cain are part of the coaching team.

The programme provides quality coaching to Under 13 and Under 15 boys and girls, reinforcing Basketball England’s Player Development Framework. The programme utilises the super-region model and is delivered primarily through camp-based activity throughout the year.

This weeks camp, held at the Manchester Metropolitan University sports campus in Fallowfield, saw players from across the North West come together with the ultimate aim to be selected for the North West and North of England teams. In addition to the coaches delivering sessions to the participants it was also a fantastic opportunity for them to gain experience working with different coaches and be a part of development of players on the Basketball England pathway.

The programme continues with further sessions in January and December and culminates with a Super Region tournament in July 2024.
