Liverpool Under 14 Girls and Under 18 Women met their counterparts from Inverness Lions this week in two friendly games.

The Under 14 Girls game was a thriller right up to the final seconds of overtime. Lions seemed in control of the game taking a 31-14 lead into the half time break, but Coach Meg McLoughlin rallied the girls to tie the game 50 points apiece at the end of the fourth quarter.

A tense period of overtime saw Liverpool out score Inverness by just one point to take the game 56-55. Liverpool’s Sophie led the scoring with 22 points.

The Under 18 Women’s game proved a tough challenge for our young and upcoming team. Lions took an early lead and used their experience to build on this each quarter eventually taking the game by 69-37. Mia was Liverpool’s top scorer with 14 points.

Thanks to Inverness for providing the opposition, we look forward to meeting up again in the future.
